Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Assures Speedy Decision on PRC; Employee Unions Call Off Protests

 


Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a crucial meeting with leaders of various employee unions today, announcing several key promises and initiatives aimed at employee welfare. Following the fruitful discussions and the Chief Minister's assurances, the union leaders officially withdrew all proposed agitations, including the protest scheduled for the 5th of this month.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy stated that the officials' committee has been directed to submit a report on the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) immediately, clarifying that a final decision on the PRC will be taken based on this report.

Key Announcements & Assurances

  • Speedy PRC Resolution: Immediate directives have been issued to the officials' committee to submit the PRC report for further decision-making.

  • Retirement Benefits Clearing: The government will release ₹6,000 crore within 100 days to settle employee retirement benefits. The Chief Minister noted that employees will have the right to decide the expenditure priorities for these funds.

  • Health Security Cards: Responding positively to the demand for health security, the CM assured that health cards will be issued to all employees by June 1.

  • Timely Salaries & Union Rights: He reminded the attendees that the government's very first decision upon assuming power was prioritizing employees by ensuring salaries are credited on the first of every month and granting unions the freedom to conduct elections.

  • Systematic Transfers: The CM highlighted the recent transparent execution of employee transfers, noting that long-pending teacher transfers were completed systematically without any controversies or confusion.

A "Friendly Government"

Addressing the union leaders, CM Revanth Reddy praised the state's workforce, stating that government welfare schemes are successfully implemented only due to the dedicated efforts of the employees, who shoulder the responsibility of executing every announced scheme.

He further suggested that recognized unions should meet once every two months to compile and submit reports on employee issues to the government. "This is a friendly government... it is our responsibility to solve your problems," he assured them.

Protests Withdrawn

Expressing their gratitude for the Chief Minister's clear stance on their demands, the employee union leaders formally thanked CM Revanth Reddy. They acknowledged that the "People's Government," under his leadership, has already resolved a majority of their ongoing issues.

Consequently, the union leaders announced the immediate withdrawal of all planned protests, including the specific agitation set for the 5th of this month.
